    Almost a year ago now, I made this thread pointing out the abyssal numbers for the first Masters tour of this Hearthstone competitive year. People responded by saying it was the first event on YouTube and people needed time to find it.

    Well, the grand finals of the world championship are happening right now and there are 14,000 people watching.

    That's a decrease of 264,000 people from last year, or almost 95%.

    Just a total disaster for Hearthstone and Hearthstone Esports. Absolute sabotage on the part of Activision Blizzard corporate.

    Here are some of my thoughts

    • I already quit 3 weeks ago and life has been infinitely better since. I recommend quitting to anyone playing this game.
    • I spent £400+ on this game in the past and just haven't felt like I've got my money's worth. Sure I have a decent wild collection, but it gets boring playing the exact same deck/game/meta for years.
    • It's a digital card game ffs. Why can't they just make it good? If the reasons are cause they have to make it run on mobile, they have to make it work for new players, they have to make money endlessly that they don't even deserve, then I don't see why I should ever give money to this game.
    • Hearthstone is simply a shit product. I already feel like I won by quitting. I got my life back leaving this awful low quality game. I still play other videogames because I actually have fun playing those.

    Everything thats currently wrong in Hearthstone

    Disclaimer: Not everything here needs to be changed, treat it like these surveys where you have to pick 2 out of 10, but can pick more, if you want.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dust eco system

    Problem: High crafting cost / low disentchant value
    Possible fix: Cut the numbers in half (ie Legendary craft 1600 > 800, Epic craft 400 > 200)

    Underwhelming packs

    Problem: Drop rates are too low
    Possible fixes: Set the pity timer on Legendaries to 30 and epics to 8 / Increase the overall droprate of higher rarities / Add one more card to packs

    Tavern Pass

    Problem: With the recent changes I actually think the battle pass is fine, just needs another tweak here and there. It really depends on the mini expansion thats coming.
    Possible fix: Include parts of the mini expension to the battle pass

    Game Balance #1

    Problem: Powercreep (introducing new cards, that basically do the same as older ones, but with better stats, cost reduction or added abilities (ie Elven Archer to Pen Flinger) ) and obviously overpowered cards
    Possible fix: Every expansion introduces new powercrept cards, which is inevitable over time, but shouldnt be this high.
    Also a decrease in overall powerlevel should be the goal. No need to go back to Chillwind Yeti times (although they were really good HS times), but seeing cards like [Bladed Lady] for example, is just absurd.

    Game Balance #2

    Problem: Overall balance and Blizzards slow reaction time
    Possible fix: Yes, Demon Hunters are a problem on ladder, but what happens when Illidan gets hit by the nerf bat? Highlander Hunter and Paladins will storm the ladder alone, which will create an even worse meta, because there is no real counter to it besides maybe some weird decks (hello Secret Rogue). So Blizzard needs to implement a bigger balance patch with a lot of nerfs and not just wait for the mini expansion.

    Duels #1

    Problem: Cost and rewards
    Possible fix: Reduce its entry cost to 100g, but remove the guaranteed pack from 0-3 wins, because of that. Arena entry will get cheaper because of that as well (entry ticket).
    Keep an eye on lower winrate rewards. Restructure them in accordance to the lower entry price, but increase the rewards for 10-12 wins. This is something special, it takes A TON of time, luck and effort to get to 10+ wins. For most ppl (like me), it wont come often, so let us feel, that we accomplished something!

    Duels #2

    Problem: Balance
    Possible fix: Every run feels so much like a huge clown fiesta. It could be fun, if it wasnt so expensive. Casual Duels was a fine idea, but as long as the exact same mode (heroic duels) exists right next it, which takes the same time, but you get the chance for rewards, it (casual) doesnt feel like time well spent.
    Blizzard needs to balance the passives better, especially early on and for the love of Yogg Saron, please higher the HP early on.

    Overall cost of the game

    Problem: Hearthstone gets more expensive every year!

    • In 2017 Adventures were replaced by another expansion.
    • Over time more Legendaries were added to each expansion, making it way harder to complete a collection
    • Events gave away less and less benefits (remember Gold AND Dust for quests? Yeah, good times)
    • (Upcoming mini expansion, we dont know anything, yet)

    Possible fix: We will never be able to go back to the old adventure times, so one way could be (and yes ,that would be highly debatable) to let players get the mini expansion by playing the game instead of paying money for it. This would get players back in the game and maybe more enclined to pay again.

    there are way too many troublemakers in arena, warrior has to be buffed though other ways then this broken card.

    troublemaker is maybe the most broken arena card ever. its even worse then the demonhunter cards, but demonhunter has more broken cards ans a better hero power.

    Should The Old Gods Be Buffed?

    Not Yogg obviously, he's a meme and should stay a meme.

    But the other three make me sad that the OGs, who should be mighty flagship characters, aren't seeing any play. Watching worlds it feels wrong that no old gods are there. What do you think? Should Nzoth, Cthun and Yshaarj be buffed so that they see play and how would you do it?

    No more free decks for finishing apprenticeship?

    My wife started to enjoy playing Hearthstone and we started playing it together. I started using her account more because it was fun getting packs every five levels. (Who would have guessed that rewarding players leads to more engagement?)

    So we finally got through apprenticeship all she got was 10 packs but no choice of decks. When did this downgrade happen? Am I missing something?

    Do I have to complete every single daily and weekly quest possible to reach level 50 in the rewards track? If I don't play the game for a week will I still be able to reach level 50?
