    Format: Randomized / pick a class (good news Demon Hunter fans, you can pick DH for this one)

    Reward: one Classic pack for your first win

    History: This is the third time we've seen this format, and the last time took place last November. Here's the event thread from last time.

    Also worth noting: both sides start the game with the Shaman quest Unite the Murlocs. That calls for playing 10 murlocs, which rewards the Megafin minion. He's a 8/8 for (5) who also fills your hand with random murlocs.

    Season 2 Overview

    After two successful tournaments, we have decided to jump straight into another round of tournaments. At the end of this season of tournaments, we will once again have our $1k+ Prize pool tournament. Due to a minimal desire so far, we have have not developed any support for Asia tournaments. For those of you who play on the Asia server and wish to have tournaments, please reach out to our "@ModMail" bot.

    What is HCTS?

    (Hearthstone Community Tournament Series) HCTS is community-driven Hearthstone tournament league focused solely on the Wild format. HCTS tournaments have no entrance fee. HCTS wants to bring casual and professional level tournaments to the Wild Hearthstone community. HCTS will follow a match format nearly identical to Hearthstone Championship Tour (Swiss followed by playoffs). In future tournaments, HCTS will personally manage ban lists for each tournament series. Wild naturally sees fewer swings in meta structure. HCTS wants to provide a dynamic tournament environment by cycling which cards are banned series to series.

    This banning cycle will be designed to stimulate creative deckbuilding and rewarding players who understand which decks surge to the top as key cards to certain decks are banned.

    Tournament Dates

    🧪 Conquest Experimentation 🧪

    • Conquest Experimentation will be a way for HCTS to test ban lists, format changes, and flow and using the feedback to conduct our end of season Major.
      • This iteration of Conquest Experimentation will feature no ban list
      • Run Bo5 Shieldless Conquest (same as the previous tournament)
    • This two-day event will run Swiss brackets followed by a top 32 playoffs
      • It has yet to be determined whether it will be the top 2 from 16 groups, top 4 from 8 groups, or top 3 from 11 (33 total instead of 32)

    💎 Dusty Drought - 3200 Cap 💎

    • Dusty Drought will be HCTS' official budget format. Popularity will determine if this becomes a featured format during the Major.
    • This edition of Dusty Drought has a 3200 Dust cap. Individual decks may not exceed 💎 3200 in dust value
      • Dust value is based solely on rarity.
    • If certain decks overwhelm the format with power levels that shut out all other decks, Dusty Drought may adopt a ban list going forward.
      • Genn, Baku, and Jade Idol are the 3 cards that have raised concerns so far.

    🎊 Whizbang Warfare 🎊

    • Whizbang Warfare will be a repeating casual HCTS tournament that takes place briefly over the course of an evening.
    • Matches will be a simple Bo3 that involves no ban-phase or conquest style deck usage.
    • Whizbang the Wonderful and Zayle, Shadow Cloak are the only valid cards in this format.

    🎰 Yogg's Arena 🎰

    • Yogg's Arena is an experimental casual format for HCTS
    • Every deck must contain Yogg-Saron, Hopes End
    • Players who bring minion based aggro decks (i.e. Pirate Warrior) may find they are not awarded their placement title.
      • If this becomes an issue the tournament will be scrapped and will be conducted with a ban list.

    Prize Pool

    • While we wait for a response from Blizzard regarding tournament licensing we will not be hosting any tournaments with a prize pool.
