    Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 04:09 PM PST

Do you enjoy watching streamers? Do you wish there was an easier way to find new up-and-coming streamers beyond the well-known, established Twitch goliaths?

Do you have a stream yourself? Are you looking to get exposure but not sure how given how Twitch displays streams and how one-shot stream promotion posts on Reddit tend to get ignored? Is anyone still reading these questions?

    This thread is for you!

If you are a streamer or know of a cool, lesser-known (read: doesn't regularly pull in 1K+ viewers) streamer feel free to post the URL and a short, informative pitch about why you feel others would be interested to watch it. Why should someone watch your suggested stream rather than one of the hundreds of other streams out there?

The next great streamer might be just one comment away.

    Enjoy!

If Blizzard HoF's Edwin they should make Tess the new classic Rogue legendary.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 02:55 PM PST

I've seen a lot of people calling for Edwin's head. I personally wouldn't mind as he can get out of hand but obviously Rogue would need a replacement that fits their identity. What is Rogue's identity though? I'm thinking combos and thief cards. So combo lover Edwin leaving would be a good opportunity to use a thief lover and Tess is just a great fit.

Standard Budget Decks under 1800 Dust without Adventure Cards

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 10:23 AM PST

Hi everyone, aLovingSoul here. Hope this post finds you well.

I was looking at some decklists in Standard to see how low we could get the dust cost without sacrificing too much quality. Usual restrictions apply (no epics, legendaries, or adventure cards).

Token Treant Druid - 1760 Dust

Probably my favorite of the budget options in standard; it's just super satisfying getting the chance to cast Aeroponics for 1 or 0 mana. We get access to a majority of the treant cards and synergies and we get access to the ever powerful Savage Roar to close out games to help turn your opponents into mulch.

    Face Hunter - 1080 Dust

The cheapest list of the bunch, Face Hunter gets to leverage a lot of powerful basic class cards and its Hero Power to ping the opponent down to 0 as fast as possible. I like that Face Hunter now has mechanics to reward casting its hero power which goes hand in hand with our gameplan, Phase Stalker MVP.

    Mech Paladin - 1640 Dust

It all begins with a 1/1 Mecharoo, fast forward a few turns and now it towers over the skyline after being magnetized for the umpteenth time. Definitely a fun way to get into Mechs without breaking the bank.

Galakrond Zoo Warlock - 1440 Dust

A list of Descent of Dragons decks wouldn't be complete without the star of the show himself, Galakrond (also it'd be a shame for budget players to not get to play around with a free legendary). Without typical epics like Sea Giant or Magic Carpet, we're all in on flooding the board with Galakrond's Draconic Imps and 1 drops to bring the pain to our opponents.

Full video for upgrade paths and breakdowns: Budget Decks for Descent of Dragons

Hope this post gives a bit of inspiration to newer/budget players, I had a lot of fun putting this together.

I'm playing daily since beta, but I left this sub years ago. Just for curiosity, how is the current state of the competitive game?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 06:33 AM PST

I left the sub so I can enjoy the game more casually. No more tier lists, meta discussion, etc. I just do my dailies with my fun deck and don't get frustrated about oppressing decks (plus new expansions are always a surprise).

I remember that in the first years, Hearthstone could still be played competitively despite the massive randomness present in the game. I could predict the opponents deck, figure out if he have threats/removals, etc.

But now nothing matters. At all. Card generation in this game is insane, and there is no point trying to figure out what is in your opponent hand.

If you deck uses lackeys, you can have any spell or dragon in your hand. If you play rouge, virtually any card of the game could be in our hand. There is a shitton of cards around that add random cards to your hand in many decks. It is not about being random, its about you can't predict anything now. Before was tossing a dice to figure out the outcome, but now is picking up a number between 1-1000.

I remember people complaining about knife juggler or Yogg, but that kind of randomness is laughable noways. I bet that the sub exhausted this discussion already, but I wonder what people think about it nowadays. How pro level tournaments even look like?

Top of the Decks - Meta Report February

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:34 AM PST

Grettings r/CompetitiveHS German Hearthstone Player Balerion here with the newest edition of my Meta Report. Though the article itself is written in the German language and generally aimed for the niche in the Landscape of German Hearthstone Content, I want to share it here. I will try to give you a short englisch summary so that you still have an Idea what I'm talking about. So heeere we goo:

Galakronds Awakening has come to an end and we can finally see, which of the classes profited the most out of and which did "lose" in the newly established meta.

The unquestioned winner of the added cards is with no doubt the Hunter Class. With Dragon Hunter It gained a completely new and surprisingly potent archetype, while it's older list evolved massively. Quest Hunter skyrocketed from a formidable but underplayed Meta Breacker to the top of the Meta mostly thanks to Kragg, a card which suit the Decks playstyle like no other. Highlander Hunter changed too and is aiming for an minion heavy build with lots of Dragons, thanks to Rotnestdrake. To be honest I think that you could hardly do anything wrong with any of the Hunter Decks, although I see Quest Hunter on the top of the Bunch, thanks to the solid Winrate against all other Meta Decks.

Rouge didn't gain much from Galakronds Awakening, but the Galakrond Rouge is still one of the best Decks. If you truly can play that Deck, one could argue that it is even still THE best Deck in the Game. It's still the most played Deck at legend and it still shines with absurd tempo turn and great flexibility in its match ups. Its just a hard deck to pilot , so I'm putting it lower on my Tierlist, as it would diserve in an optimal setup. Aside from that Rouge has nothing going for it. Highlander Rouge is an okay Deck but nothing breathtaking and it loses the comparison with the Galakrond Rouge horribly.

The seemingly biggest winner of Galakronds Awakening, at least on the first weeks, was Embiggen Druid which rises from the ashes of a trash tier deck to be one of the most played Decks in the first week of the adventure. But with the weeks the meta adapted so that Embiggen Druid is not longer one of the absolut best. Its simply a highroll Decks at its best. With Embiggen, Strength in Numbers and/or Breath of Dreams in your opening hand, you've already won. But if you don't get that cards in time Embiggen Druid suffers against the Hunters and Rouges of the ladder. Quest Druid looks more promising in that regard as it is celebrating its renaissance. And all of that thanks to one new card: Rising Winds. It gives the Deck something to do in the early stages of a game and is in general a great cycling card. At the moment the playrates of the Quest Deck is especially rising at Legend. So keep an eye out for the Quest Druid!

Paladins have nothing new going for them, but the "old" stuff seems to be still great. Mech Paladin enjoys a meta full of hunters. The only new addition to this deck is Shotbot, superb 2-Drop for the Deck, which enhances the chance to stick a magnetize target for your next turn. The Quest Paladin could make a return in the realms of Off Meta Decks. Though it doesn't looks that promising against some of the meta decks, it maybe could catch some people off guard. But if your going for legend you should probably stay away from this one.

Priest did innovate his Ressurect Deck with the Addition of his Galakrond Herocard. The Deck drops the Quest in that favor, a change which significantly boots the poor early game of that archetype. You are no longer starting with one card less and to be honest the random priest spells are seeming to be better than the upgraded hero power. With only two copies of Timerip the decks isn't a fully fledged Galakrond deck, but it doesn't wants to be one. Its still a great counter against aggro and especially against some of Rexxars Decks. Combo Priest still exists in its origin form and it can still wreck people with the right pilot or the right opening hand. But if you aren't a Combo Priest veteran I don't really see the point in investing in that archetype. Its no longer one of the best.

Mage is still running low, although the Amazing Reno seems to be a great card. But the Highlander Mage hates any form of Hunter Deck and gets eaten alive by the most of then. You can still have some success against those if you make the right tech coices but then you're open for the rest of the meta. I think that Highlander Mage improved his standing in the meta after the release of Galakronds awakening in general, but its still no longer one of the main players in the meta.

The main losers of the Soloadventure are Warrior, Warlock and Shaman. Neither of that classes could gain a new Archetype while it prominent decks got worse. Galakrond Warrior never got his edge back after the nerfs and is not more than a okay deck in my opinion. Experiments around some kind of highlander Warrior are looking pretty bad. Warlock lost his Hand Deck, Zoo is no longer that competitive and only the Control Galakrond Deck seems to survive, although its no longer the best counter agains the aggro decks of the meta.

    Shaman.exe could not be found.

I hope my summary is more or less well written. Please excuse poor grammar or other errors. If you liked this or have interest in my whole article please visit it here and leave a comment :)
