    Newbie Tuesdays Weekly Discussion

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 04:07 PM PST

Hello members of the /r/hearthstone community,

This is part of a series of weekly threads aimed at both new and old players from the community. It is designed so that everybody may ask any and all questions regarding the game's mechanics, decks, strategies and more.

Please keep it clean and try to add more than just a one or two word response. As the goal of this post is to increase the community's knowledge, the thought process matters as much as the answer! There is also a Theorycrafting Thursday weekly post, for those who wish to discuss some of the more intricate aspects of the game.

Sticky Threads and Guides - Great resources for new players!

Note: I am a bot. Questions or feedback regarding this thread? Message the moderators.

    Galakrond's Awakening Solo Adventure

The Chapters will unlock on the following dates.
    Chapter 1: January 21
    Chapter 2: January 28
    Chapter 3: February 4
    Chapter 4: February 11

Collectible cards will be added to your collection after you complete each campaign and chapter

    Collectible Cards Are Back!

Galakrond's Awakening also marks the return of collectible card rewards that will become available to add to your collection. Over the course of the four chapters, a total of 35 cards will be unlockable by clearing encounters in both the Explorers and E.V.I.L. campaigns. Clear an encounter, get a card (sometimes two!). It's that easy! As a bonus for purchasing the first chapter's good campaign, you'll get an additional three cards at the beginning of that chapter.

After you earn a card, you'll also have the option to craft the golden version.

    4/35 cards revealed

This galakrond priest deck currently has 59.1% winrate and it does NOT run invoke cards

    Posted: 14 Jan 2020 04:25 AM PST

    Winrate

Priest invoke cards are bad because they have low tempo? What if I tell you galakrond priest doesn't need invoke cards to work.

In theory, this deck beats the face decks with the taunt+res package of res priest and it doesn't need the quest. Against slow decks, it has galakrond for infinite value and it runs 2 albatrosses to counter highlander decks.

Disclaimer: I actually haven't played or faced against this deck. I just found it hilarious that someone is brave enough to play galakrond without invoke cards and somehow it works out(galakrond and kronx actually have good drawn winrates in this deck).

So now that Magic: The Gathering is getting a MMO based upon the card universe, can we get a Hearthstone MMO based upon the Hearthstone cards?

Dragonbane has no action history tab, despite being a trigger effect.

How I defeated the final plague lord. (Sorry for shit quality)

Turns out an army of Khartut Defenders defeats the army of Jades. Feels good to beat Wild Druid at its own game.

Is Priest the most unfun class to play against right now?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2020 10:15 AM PST

It doesn't seem to matter how many times you kill their stuff or how careful you are to get as much value out of your cards as possible, they never seem to run out of ways to bring their minions back. Even when they seem to have used all their resurrection spells, Galakrond's hero power seems to pull them more. I just played against another priest playing the same deck everyone seems to play right now and they healed themselves back to full three or four times and despite having no deck left and taking fatigue damage they still beat me. At least with Shamans you could win as long as you kept the board clear of 8/8s with rush.

How do you tech your deck to beat priest? More burst damage, perhaps? I was playing Mage so should I just pack Fireballs?

Got all 9 1000 win heros, reach legend every month i play, spent over £500 and still missing a bunch of cards.

Just wanted to point out that after doing this, reaching legend every season i play and spending over £500 on this game im still missing a bunch of cards. Often i cant play a deck i want because i dont have the cards and no good way to earn them without dropping more money at which point i just get off the game, not sure if it's just me that does this . (arena is so boring imo)

I think a start would be actually rewarding people for being decent and hitting legend, at the moment you get 550 dust for getting to legend and for that reason people just sit at rank 5 because there isnt a good enough reason to go from 5 to legend. Removing the daily gold cap is another, also could make epics dup protected like legendaries. I dont normally dust cards i dont have extra copies of because getting a quarter of the dust isnt worth it so maybe half the dust value would work too.

I'm not saying i want the game to be f2p because money has to be made but to make the cards more earnable ingame and the price to play multiple decks more reasonable.

We should get music kits with heroes.

    Posted: 14 Jan 2020 04:48 AM PST

Alternative heroes should include a different music in game. This wouldn't affect the gameplay but somehow it would help with the uniqueness of the special heroes

I played Leeroy for lethal forgetting I used Lady in White previously which would've led to me not have lethal, fortunately my opponent conceded when he saw Leeroy
