Riot's Legends of Runeterra Launches Open Beta Thursday, How Does It Compare to Hearthstone? Posted: 21 Jan 2020 04:32 AM PST WoW was my entry into online gaming, played for several years until I fell out during college. Never touched League because I thought it was ugly as sin until some of my RL friends encouraged me to get it into it. Played it, didn't like it, still played it cause you know how it goes. Then TFT came out and that was fun for a little while, but I wanted more actual skill so I came back to Blizzard to try Hearthstone. etc. etc. Long story short I've been flitting between the two companies and think Blizzard genuinely makes more fun games, but Riot has a way of making you want to stay around longer. I never got to try Runeterra because I didn't get into the tests. Now I've spent money on Hearthstone recently and Galakrond is gonna awaken later TODAY, but there's Legends of Runeterra is going into open beta this THURSDAY and that's a free experience anyone can try. I've looked at a few comparisons and guides for Hearthstone players looking to try out Runeterra (https://mobalytics.gg/blog/hearthstone-players-guide-legends-of-runeterra/) but I wanted to know if any of you who actually got into the preview patches for Runeterra could chime in. How does Riot's card game compare? Is there any chance of it being good? Is it worth it to try to play both, or should I just stay with one (certainly easier on my wallet and on my climb/grinding). Visually, hearthstone is still miles ahead of all the competition. Posted: 21 Jan 2020 10:09 AM PST And to me, visually, asthetically, it's not even close. All these new card games that have come out, whether we're talking about magic, artifact, runeterra , or the slew of others..... Whenever I watch a streamer or YouTube video on the game, because I am genuinely interested, they are so visually unappealing instantly, I just lose interest without even learning the game. Yes, the hearthstone meta is boring . Yes, the power levels are too high. There's lots of things I dislike about hearthstone, but the visuals are so far ahead of the competition that I will continue to play it, and not even attempt any of these others games until someone steps up their visual game.
