It was his third firelands portal in arena, game decided to give me a break

    So I had an interview...

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 10:19 AM PST

Had a job interview today. It was for the role of an applications specialist so essentially I would be teaching groups of individuals or individuals how to use a system... What does this have to do with hearthstone I hear you cry... Well the final question was a doozy... "We're going to go out of the room for 10 minutes and when we come back we want you to teach us something. Anything.. not subject related can be anything."

Mind went blank... Snowboarding.. no that's rubbish... Chess.. I don't want to be THAT guy who has addenoid problems... literally the only thing that came to mind was hearthstone...

So I thought fuck it... Why not... So they come back and I'm busting out my art skills drawing cards which look more like im using Ms paint with my foot.. I'm going into strategies and synergies...

The long and short of it is they loved it.. wrote down the name and said they'd have a look and see what it's all about...

Won't find out about the job til wed Thur but hey who knows.

Tldr: got asked in an interview to teach them something. Thought them hearthstone. They liked it ? New players?!

[Wild] Sn1p-Sn4p isn't the problem, Mechwarper is.

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:24 AM PST

For Wild players, Sn1p-Sn4p Warlock with turn 4 (with coin) or 5 (going first) auto-win, Glinda + 5 Mechwarpers + Infinite Zilliax, Wild Mech-Paladin, etc. the problem really lie on Mechwarper making infinite 0-mana Magnetic mechs. This is also what has allowed botting on Sn1p-Sn4ps...

I understand that most people are hyped about the new expansion coming out, or Battleground, but I really hope Mechwarpers get nerfed to where Mechs cost (1) less, but not less than (1). This way, at least no combos can be infinite, especially early game. Having any mech on the board past turn 4 = lethal is too broken.

As frustrating as evolve is right now

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 10:57 AM PST

Khartut Defender and N'zoth create just as miserable of an experience if the game goes past turn six as three hares and evolve on four do. This event honestly cannot be over fast enough.

I'm sorry but gaining an advantage in battlegrounds for buying packs is not okay

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:15 AM PST

Who thought it was a good idea to market battlegrounds as 'nearly a separate game' and at the same time give people who bought a bunch of packs from the new expansion for the main game the ability to choose out of 3 heroes instead of 2. Not only is it pay 2 have better rng oddsbut its also a cheap way of making sure people will still buy packs if they prefer the autochess mode. Imagine if in League's TFT you had the ability to choose out of 6 shop champions instead of 5 if you had more than say 90 skins in the main game. If you market them as separate things, they should stay separate.

Note that this legendary WILL count towards one of the 5 neutral legendaries in the new set.

Top Custom Cards of the Week from r/CustomHearthstone (11/04/2019, featuring TrumpSC, Kripparian, as well as HS devs, Puffin & Celestalon)

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 08:20 AM PST

    The Cards

Oh boy! Am I excited for today and got a lot to say. After 5 weeks, r/customhearthstone has finally reached the final round of our Battle Royale Design Tournament. We've gotten the help of streamers, Trump and Kripparian as well as Hearthstone developers, Puffin and Celestalon to help challenge the remaining teams and determine the winners. 1 card from each of the 4 remaining teams are featured here, but you can find more details about it and help vote here.

Otherwise, people are certainly getting excited about the upcoming Descent of Dragons expansion. The subreddit is already being flooded with hordes of dragon cards, many of which you'll be seeing starting next week when we feature the top 5 cards based on the the upcoming expansion. Remember that your post must be properly themed and tagged with the "Dragons" flair to qualify for this. Finally, we had a special bonus post of Top Cards on Saturday where "DIY" and Halloween cards from our Discord were featured. They're wacky, spooky, and definitely worth checking out.

    Why would Rafaam invoke galakrond?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:14 AM PST

I'm very excited for the new expansion. But I just can't figure what the story will do next. Why would Rafaam be trying to essentially destroy everyone? Hes just the SUPREME ARCHEOLOGIST after all?

Do you guys think it's an unintended consequence and the league of evil and explorers will have to fight togherther? I'm also exiced for that you decide the winner!

What are your thoughts people? I really want to hear!

Reno is actually NOT a dragon?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2019 01:07 PM PST

So... The theory that Reno Jackson is a dragon is three years old now. Let me remind you how it all began: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/4x3i6l/

We've been waiting for the return of this character and anticipating new lore about him for quite some time. In Tombs of Terror adventure, Blizzard left a few small hints that disprove our theory. To be exact, the opening phrases of two bosses. Avozu, one of the final bosses of the first Chapter, calls Reno a human: https://imgur.com/a/OIuHNEx K'zrath, Plague Lord of Madness does the same thing: https://imgur.com/a/rcueUED

It's quite unlikely that such powerful entities would fail to see the dragon's nature within him. Even so, the card that was announced a couple of days ago just finished off the theory. "Learn Draconic": https://imgur.com/a/48Fc59A Why would Reno learn the language of dragons if he is already one? That doesn't make any sense. I guess Team 5 doesn't want to make that canon.

I sincerely want to believe that they just wanted to fool everyone and that in the grand finale of the new adventure Reno will throw off the shackles of the human body and soar into the sky. Now is the perfect time for this. But, it seems, this is not destined to come true. Thank you all for this wonderful example, that Hearthstone community is not only about playing green cards, but also creating beautiful tales.
