The best treasure of hearthstone is not in golden packs, it's the friends you make along the way.

Let's talk about the Wailling Caverns Mini-Set

    Posted: 21 Apr 2021 06:54 AM PDT

So we are half way to the mini-set. We already know it's about the Wailing Caverns. We got the leaked data and image. The may cardback also proofs it.

I'm pretty sure we will get Lord Serpentis as a legendary for druid. i mean, he is the leader of the druid of the fang. Maybe he frenzies into a big ass snake?

What about the giant murloc that we fight at the end for shaman? The iconic Turtle in the river for Hunter? let me know what you think!

FREE TO PLAY- From Apprentice Rank 40 To Legend Top 100 For 5 Days

    Hello,

I am new to Reddit. I wanted to make the post so I could show how much the 'relatively new' system has improved for beginners and F2P players. Also, I wanna boast how fast I climb and how good I am :P

I speak English as a second language so, please excuse some of the mistakes I might make.

In this post, I talk about the way to climb fast as a new player out of the apprentice ranks and which of the free decks to pick for the current meta. This is not necessarily a guide for completely new players but more so for beginners who still struggle at the core ideas of climbing. Veteran players who also want to get better might get something from this post as it is also a guide to high Legend and brings up some more specific Info.

When I did the climb it was 10 days before the Penflinger nerfs. To compensate for that I'll give 2 lists 1 pre-patch 1 after patch( there's only 1 Card Difference). Also, the Meta has shifted a lot but Paladin hasn't lost its edge and is still on the top of tier 2, which means it's still a highly competitive and viable deck. I'll post my pre-nerf and post-nerf lists.

    pre

    post

I have been playing Hearthstone for around 5 years (starting in Kharazan). since then I have played mostly casually. 3 years ago I reached the Legend rank for the first time somewhere stuck in the 8000s. Since then I've been playing HS every day the whole day. My peak rank is number 2 on the Europe ladder and for the last 2 years, I have been ranking in the top 200 on the EU server every month. 6 months ago I started making new accounts on the EU to see how much better the New Player system has gotten. Honestly, it is very good. If you learn how to grind it normally you'll be able to play the game with 1 fully complete tier1/tier 2 deck in less than a week. When I started 5 years ago it took months of casual play (6-8 hours a week).

Now how do we abuse the system and do I have to spend the whole day playing HS?

Playing 1-2 Hours a day should be enough for a week to Diamond 5 Legend. (If you've already practiced and learned the match-ups quickly)

    1. create new acc

    2. finish tutorial, unlock all classes on LVL 1

    3. don't waste gold or time for the Arena/ Duels Mode

    4. build an Aggro hunter deck with the free cards and Mankrik

    5. Because the best and cheapest aggro decks are Hunter and Token Druid you can upgrade the free hunter deck with some of the epics from the popular lists on the ladder or just build a very cheap Token Druid no epic (arbor up and are enough

    6. the meta in the early ranks is still predominantly Paladin and mostly Hunter

    7. Apprentice Ranks completed! Congrats! You want to pick Paladin as it gets modified into the best deck with the least necessary legendaries.

    8. You should have around 5000 dust from all the packs through the climb and will need to craft Liadrin. Kazakus isn't needed as I maintained a solid rank for a week in the top 50 without it. Disenchant new N'zoth and keep Lord Barrov.

    9. Climb the ladder with Secret Libram Pally.

    10. If you have enough dust left craft a Kazakus and remove The Noble Sacrifice.

    Mulligan Guide:

Paladin isn't rogue so on Coin( when you go second) and off coin (when you go first) doesn't make a big diff

Keep 1 one-drop/first day of school. Always throw away secrets. Always keep Sword Of The Fallen.

Off Coin: if you already have a 1 drop in the keep a Hand Of A'dal.

On Coin (Mirror/ aggro): You want to coin 2 one-drops so one of them can stick and buff it with Libram Of Wisdom/Hand Of A'dal.

Against Control Decks (Warlock/Priest): You can keep an Aldoor truth seeker if you have 1 or 2 early game cards( 1-3 mana card)

    Gameplan/ Match-Ups:

This Deck is classified as a Midrange deck. there are 2 other general deck types Aggro and Control.

Aggro tries to kill the opponent as fast as possible by dumping their hand and playing very efficient early-game high attack minions and burn spells, some Aggro archetypes don't obey this idea fully. Aggro decks tend to finish games quickly and get worse the longer the game goes, because of their primarily low-cost cards.

Control is the exact opposite. Playing reactively and saving cards. their win condition is to not die from you, not necessarily kill.

Midrange can both play for early aggression and won't fall as hard in the Late game as aggro. So is the best from both worlds but is relatively weaker than their full potential.

As This is a Midrange deck you want to play for the board and finish the game with the constant damage from your minions.

Your Best MUs are Warlock Mages and Hunters. Struggles against Priest, but which class doesn't.

Handbuff Warrior and Miracle Rogue are 50/50 (more skill-oriented MU).

Against Warlocks and Priests, you want to spread your resources(cards) and play the long game. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KILL THEM FAST AND GO IN! THIS IS THE NUMBER 1 MISTAKE PLAYERS MAKE. To avoid that play around Hysteria. To do that have 1 medium-sized minion and other smaller minions whose Attack stats together are less than the HP of the large minion or have only 1 big minion. If you already have some minions on the board and they aren't contested by enemy minions, for example, you have an Aldor Truthseeker and a Northwatch Commander you don't need to play any more minions as they are most likely to get removed next turn and you don't wanna lose resources. Just buff them 4Head.

Against Mages and Secret Rogue, you don't want to stack many buffs on one target or 'expose' all of your Librams Of Wisdom at once, as the Mage has Devolving Missiles and the Rogue a Blackjack Stunner.

Against Warrior, you keep the Librams of equality after they dump a bunch of big buffed minions on the board or play a Troublemaker. Playing around Samuro isn't usually worth it, because that deck has other cheap options for clears.

Aggro (Hunter, Secret Pally, Token Druid, Weapon Rogue). Play for tempo ( means play minions and clear minions, trying to always have more minions on board, in the broadest terms). Against Rogue/Hunter you don't want to really attack their High attack minions with the weapon, because they can burst you from hand easily and quickly before you might be able to Heal.

This is all I can think of. Please give a critique if something doesn't make sense, you think I am wrong or I've missed something important.

I am currently playing a very budget version of Rush Warrior, around 5000-6000 dust, in the Top 100 of Legend from the same Account and might make another guide like this after I get a bigger sample size of games.

Tavern Brawl this week is... "Valeera's Bag of Burgled Spells" (Apr. 21, 2021)

    Posted: 21 Apr 2021 10:30 AM PDT

sorry this is a bit delayed. here we go!

Description: "Valeera has stolen spells from every class and filled your deck with them! Each of those spells will summon a random minion of the same cost when played."

    Chalkboard

Format: Randomized -- everyone "plays as Rogue" but could receive spells from any class, including DH

Reward: one Year of the Phoenix pack for your first win

History: This is the seventh time we've seen this format. The last time was last August; here's the thread from last time. Also here's the Gamepedia article about this format.

BTW here's a tip: Under this format, you cast a spell, a minion gets summoned and then your spell resolves. So if you want to cast a "buff your minions" spell but you have an empty board, no problem, a minion will be summoned and receive the buff. Similarly if you cast an AOE that hits all minions (or all characters e.g. Hellfire in Warlock), your own new minion will get hit as well. But on the other hand, if you have a buff spell that targets one minion and an empty board, you still can't cast that spell without a target.

    Good luck and have fun!
