    Hearthstone is way too expensive

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 12:00 AM PDT

Every time a new expansion comes out, it feels like I have to re-buy the game to play the decks I find enjoyable and stay relevant on the ladder. And no, I don't think hearthstone is necessarily pay-to-win. I've gotten to legend a few times with low-cost aggro decks. But let's be honest, who doesn't get tired of playing them? If you want to make an actually interesting deck in an expansion, you pretty much have to pay, unless you want to go through a boring grind with a decks you don't enjoy playing.

What grind am I talking about? Well, from quests you make an average of 53.33 gold/day. I'm going to be generous and say that you are also winning 6 games a day every day to get that 20 gold win reward. That's about 73 gold/day. The average drop rate for legendaries is 1 per 20 packs, which costs 2000 gold. That means earning one legendary the F2P way requires 28 days of playing every day, winning 6 games a day. And you have no say about what legendary you get. There's no guarantee that it's viable or synergizes with you other cards. Talk about a grind.

So, basically if you want to have fun with the game and play the main game mode (I realize that there tavern brawls and whatnot, but they are not the main game), you are forced to purchase something every expansion. For a lot of people, that's the $50.00 pre-purchase. The most valuable deal of the expansion. Except it's not actually that valuable. After spending just about the amount of money that you would spend on a new, top-of-the-line game, you get SOME of the content of the new x-pack. In a lot of cases, people don't even get the resources they need to build a full meta deck they want to play (a Highlander deck, for example). This is RIDICULOUS. How can you pay that much and still not even be able to craft your choice of a deck?

I'm sorry if this offends people, but this is a scam. Especially with the blatant gameplay oversights that Blizzard has at every expansion (e.g. unbalanced Demon Hunter, Lightning Bloom, etc). At the beginning of Ashes of Outland, gameplay included getting effed by DH or effing people up with DH. It's like they don't even put in the effort of gameplay testing their product, and expect people to buy it EVERY TIME.

Good old Blizzard, milking its customers once again.

    Kripp

I don't know what you all think, but I only watch kripp on YouTube, he's always been one of my favourite content creators, but watching him just visibly not really give a shit about hearthstone Is frustrating... he's a great player and really interesting to watch but the way he just completely writes off the whole ranked experience is short sighted... he talks about aggro being brain dead and then just makes videos of him going murlocs in bg again and again... idk, basically just wanting to know what people's thoughts are about his content now ?

What if it was significantly easier and cheaper to get all cards. And paying money was more focused on getting gold cards

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 07:08 AM PDT

I had this thought for a while. It always expensive to get all the cards to play all the decks. So i have mainly stuck to low cost decks. I assume alot of ppl do this thus making a repetitive meta. or people quit because they don't want to spent money to try different decks

Noone wants to spent like 50$ each expansion and not even get all the cards.

Also golden cards also seems pointless now, its too expensive to make all golden decks or golden collections. Even if you are crazy enough to make a golden deck, eventually a bunch of cards will just go to wild anyways.
