    Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:08 PM PST

Do you enjoy watching streamers? Do you wish there was an easier way to find new up-and-coming streamers beyond the well-known, established Twitch goliaths?

Do you have a stream yourself? Are you looking to get exposure but not sure how given how Twitch displays streams and how one-shot stream promotion posts on Reddit tend to get ignored? Is anyone still reading these questions?

    This thread is for you!

If you are a streamer or know of a cool, lesser-known (read: doesn't regularly pull in 1K+ viewers) streamer feel free to post the URL and a short, informative pitch about why you feel others would be interested to watch it. Why should someone watch your suggested stream rather than one of the hundreds of other streams out there?

The next great streamer might be just one comment away.

    Enjoy!

[Discussion] - Would the game in general benefit if all cards that generated other cards were nerfed like the new Alexstrasza?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 02:46 PM PST

Say [[Underbelly Angler]] couldn't generate another Underbelly Angler? Or [[Cabalist's Tome]] couldn't give you another Cabalist's Tome? No more using [[Archivist Elysiana]] to give yourself new Archivist Elysianas.

It wouldn't be a huge change, but it would stop some crazy stuff.

    Thoughts?

I rather play against Bomb Warrior or Evolve Shaman at their heights then against Resurrection Priest

Pretty much title, just getting frustrated playing against never ending deathrattle minions that summon copies of themselves, reborn, etc....

For the sake of flavor, please revert Dr. Boom, Mad Genius back to 7 mana at some point.

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 11:05 AM PST

I don't think I'm wrong in saying that flavor in Hearthstone is more important than balance in most circumstances. It's the reason the Evil classes each got a hero card this expansion while the good classes need to wait a month to sorta formulate a response in terms of lore. It's why the Deathknights were grossly overpowered (for the most part) and never received a nerf. It's why Dr. Boom, Mad Genius gains 7 armor instead of 5 in the first place.

With all that being said, I'm really REALLY adamant that the Dr. Boom hero card NEEDS to cost 7 mana. Every other Dr. Boom card in the game costs 7 and most numbers surrounding him also are at 7. Players have grown accustomed to seeing him on turn 7 as an "oh shit" moment and I think that is a classic feeling that brings back a ton of nostalgia, another key component of Hearthstone's appeal.

I realize that he was nerfed with balance in mind; at the time he was carrying the Warrior class on his own and could outvalue other decks as a single card. However we now live in a world where Galakrond decks are strong enough to surpass Dr. Boom in overall performance, whether they can put on enough pressure and have staying power or just outvalue him entirely. There was also a nerf to the Discover mechanic, which indirectly lowered the power level of Boom as well, meaning even if he was unnerfed he would still be at a lower power level than he was during the first half of this year. I could be wrong but I think reverting him back to 7 mana wouldn't even put the deck back into tier 1.

I could also understand that Team 5 might not want the deck to be in the spotlight at all since they would figure players are sick of losing to him after all this time. In that case I would at least like him to be reverted upon rotation to Wild, as he is quite bad compared to most of the other hero cards in that format. For the same cost, Frost Lucy Jaina is getting a 4-mana class minion that synergizes with her new passive while getting her infinite value hero power online; compared to Boom getting 2 extra armor while debatably getting a less valuable value generator, it's safe to say having him at 7 mana is perfectly acceptable in Wild.

In conclusion, it really was painful to see the flavor ripped out of the heart of Dr. Boom, Mad Genius for the sake of much deserved balance. Now that we're at a higher power level state of the game, I'd really like to see that flavor restored. Please revert the nerfs and make Boom 7 mana instead of 9 mana again at some point.

Top Cards of the Week from r/CustomHearthstone (1/11/2020 with announcements)

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 08:49 AM PST

    Album

Hello and a happy new year to everyone from r/customhearthstone! Hope everyone is starting the decade strong! As noted in the title, I have 2 quick announcements to make. The first is that I would like everyone to know that we are currently voting in our Best of 2019 awards to celebrate the best that our subreddit had to offer last year. It would really mean a lot if you quickly checked the thread out and submitted your votes. Thank you :)

The second announcement is in regards to these weekly posts. With the new year, we are aiming to improve r/customhearthstone, helping positively develop the community and its content. Part of that is with these Top Cards of the Week which will be curated moving forward.

This series has always been curated with our weekly contest winner being featured, humorous posts not being allowed, and featuring set-inspired cards during the weeks before a new set. We're taking this one step further though with the goal of promoting cards that are unique, interesting, and incite constructive discussion. Rather than just showcasing 10 cards with the most upvotes from each week, the subreddit mods will be choosing from among those while omitting designs that are overdone, based on jokes, or poorly designed. We'll aim to not omit too many posts each week as well as look further than just the top 10 upvoted posts to gather 10 cards; though we always encourage people to come to r/customhearthstone if you want to see all the content.

To summarize what will be featured in these Top Cards of the Week moving forward:

    • 10 posts will always be featured from r/customhearthstone
    • The 1 winner of the Weekly Design Competition (if there is one)
    • 9 posts from the most upvoted posts from the last week at the moment of the album's creation
    • (When a new set is announced, 5 of such posts will instead be set-inspired cards)
    • No posts with the Humorous flair
    • No posts with the Balance or Misc flair, which are posts that are suggesting changes to existing cards and designs for alternative game modes like Battlegrounds
    • No posts that are overdone, based on jokes, or poorly designed, that also aren't unique, interesting, nor incite constructive discussion

If you have any suggestions for further improvements to this series I would love to hear and discuss them. Otherwise, I hope you all continue enjoying this series and I hope these changes help promote better discussion and card designs for a new year.

My opponent tried to silence a battlecry

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 07:54 AM PST

Is Zephyrs ever going to offer you silence?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 06:50 AM PST

I remember someone saying they were trying to make him respect death rattles more effectively, but I can still never get a silence out of him.. Full board full of Leper Gnomes, approaching death, and at 7 mana - Play Zephrys - 4 mana left should give you Mass Dispel as one of the options.. But nope, you get TC-130 Mental Dislocator and 2 other options that have no solution for the board full of deathrattles.. Of course I died 2 turns later because they traded all of their leper gnomes and then Leeroy'd me.. But the game would have been close if Zeph gave silence... Is this completely intentional or are they still working on fixing him?

Friendly warning: pricing discrepancy for Galakrond's Awakening (Europe)

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 12:56 AM PST

Dear HS, can we make gold by winning matches also a little more profitable?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 03:19 PM PST

You wouldn't be able to get more than 100g a day, that's the limit that's been set-up but my suggestion is that you can gather it slightly faster. Instead of 3wins -> 10g, how about changing it to 5wins -> 20g.

This would mean winning 25 matches will get you maxed gold for that day instead of having to win 30 matches. This change would remove 5wins to get your full share of the day, 100g.

Fundamentally, it doesn't change a thing, just a little bit less play time required to farm your daily gold.

    Battlegrounds connection issues

Is anyone randomly disconnecting from battlegrounds without warning very frequently, because I sure am. Every game almost! I have lost 400 rating putting me down to 5700 from 6100, I nearly yeeted my monitor out of the window when I am all but garanteed to win and then I disconnect from the game with the message "Unable to reconnect" just staring at me. Today I played against somebody in a 1v1 with a bullshit deathrattle build that was completely scuffed with a Khadgar instead of a Baron and was faced against a stacked, full bullshit, divine shield poisonous murloc build. I had absolutely no chance in hell of winning that game and guess what? My opponenet DC's and I then procced to play Kel Thuzad instead of him, lose by a significant margin and then win the game by default when I return to the tavern. This has happened twice. Me being on either side of the equation. Most games though I will miss 1-2 whole turns. I am on EU servers so please spare me the bollocks saying that that is the reason. I legit have been in contact with Blizzard and I have followed their advice and my drivers are up to date, I have an ethernet cable ect, ect... I have watched the Battle.net launcher disconnect in the top right because I have dual monitors so I am certain it's the servers. Surely this can't just be me?
