Whistle-blowing) blizzard korea paid $0 to its hearthstone commentators in 2017

Masca (Hearthstone GM Commentator for Korean Channel) revealed that Blizzard Korea paid $0 to its commentators for 2017 Hearthstone Summer Playoff. The commentators continued the broadcast because they loved Hearthstone so much and wanted to keep a good relationship with Blizzard.

He added that he sometimes had to work 12 hours in a row and was only paid the minimum wage which can barely cover meal and travel expenses. (Unlike English channel where multiple cast teams are rotating, Korean channel has only single cast team per day.)

He also told he will stop working with Blizzard and his decision is not due to the recent Blizchung issue.

His comments are available on his twitch channel : https://www.twitch.tv/videos/493901935

Is everyone really ok with the casters getting a 6 month ban?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2019 03:06 PM PDT

I get it, most of this sub is fed up with the HK controversy and we all know the apology is BS. Blitz has accepted his 6 months but I'm curious if people are actually satisfied that 6 months each for the casters is a fair punishment?

The worst they did, the absolute worst you can say was their fault and within their control, is ducking behind the desk giggling. The stream was on a delay, production could have pulled it. If anyone should be punished it's the director of the stream and I still maintain that nobody should be punished on the staff side for what happened.

I'm personally sickened by the whole thing I hope Blizzcon is a sea of protestors but from a strictly HS standpoint - do people actually believe the caster punishment is fair? If it had been two NA casters would 6 months for the same actions be a justified punishment?

Game constantly crashes on Android since update

    Posted: 13 Oct 2019 12:07 PM PDT

Just wanna check if this happens to anyone else. Since last update game started crashing very often, in my last Arena Run about four times, then I restarted the phone and it crashed again, while in the menu. I use P20 Pro which is still more than a good phone, so I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem since the update? Before that it happened like once in 6 months.

So I guess I'm forced to quit

    Posted: 13 Oct 2019 01:06 PM PDT

Hi, I only got into playing hearthstone after downloading it on my phone maybe 2 or 3 years back but it's been my before sleep thing to continuously play dungeon runs over and over. I'm not really into pvp but I've really loved all the dungeon runs (not the troll one) and tried to completely clear as thoroughly as possible. Anyway my game kept freezing the other night so after a lazy google I cleared all my data. See the thing is I logged with facebook and I've since done a complete deletion of my fb account.

So now I'm fairly sure I've lost my game modes my clears and all the stuff I like and have to play through this incredibly obnoxious tutorial and I'm thinking, can I actually be arsed to grind enough pvp to get to where I was? Probably not. I'll miss the dungeon runs though.

This is what I found in Chinese social media

    Posted: 13 Oct 2019 03:22 PM PDT

This is what I found in Chinese social media

So I got curious about what happens on the other side of the Great Firewall (I read Chinese). Here is what I found:

    1. There is absolutely ZERO news report in Chinese government controlled media (i.e., 100% TV, newspaper, websites in mainland China, all of them). Zero.
    2. In some social media, there are limited discussions. The posts nearly unanimously support Blizzard's ban of pro-democracy esport athlete, clearly from extreme nationalists (most of Chinese youths are extreme nationalists). One example is below, entitled: Blizzard is forever my daddy. It calls for rewarding Blizzard another Y100 million (about 14 million US$) .

    Daily HS Discussion: Day 2

    Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:47 AM PDT

Topic: [[Renounce The Darkness]] and other memes

Renounce The Darkness was first introduced in Whispers of the Old Gods expansion back in 2016 and since then it was known as Highlight Meme Card. And now, with Doom in the Tomb event, it is back! Now, there are many ways to build Renounce Warlock. Here is my deck:

    AAECAf0GBI+CA+ujA+TSA+XSAw0w3AbECPH3AtKGA6+NA6uRA9qWA9qbA7KlA52pA9bJA+DSAwA=

As you can see, the deck consists of the Quest, 2 Plot Twists, 2 Renounces, some removal, draw and draw payoff cards. The strategy for the deck is to get Renounce as soon as possible while your quest is (sometimes) active, so you can change your hero power later.

Do you have any meme decks? Do you have any tips or tricks for memeing and winning? Let me know in the comments below. And tune in tomorrow for a discussion about this week's Brawl.
