Hearthstone Deathstalker Rexxar is, to me, the best card ever printed. Loads of fun and tons of value. What is your personal favorite?

I'll take excellent communication, fast nerfs, and risk-taking in card design over rap songs any day of the week

Despite the mishaps with the questlines in the recent expac - I think we should agree we came a long way from 2014. I played since beta and the game is so much better now thanks to the leaderships team at HS.

    • We don't wait 4-6 weeks for nerfs anymore. Things get nerfs much quicker and the meta adjusts pretty well. Even after the nerfs hit - cards rarely lose so much power that they are useless.

    • No more Meta-breaking cards - I can't remember the last time a card single handedly defines the meta. Each of the several first expansions had one card that was clearly head and shoulders above the rest - Dr. 7, Mysterious Challenger, Patches the pirate, Spreading Plague, undertaker, Reno Jackson, Baku/Genn - note that many of those meta breaking cards were either nerfs weeks after dominating the meta or not nerfed at all.

    • Game is much larger now. For years the community wanted more game modes, now we have an abundance. BGs turned out to be a hugely popular auto-battler, and I think with some modifications they can make duels a fun game mode. And, we are getting mercenaries soon. There is a LOT to do now in HS.

    • Economy is much better now. The new leadership in team 5 tackled this head on. The game is not cheap by any means, but I think most players will agree the duplicate protection, the reward system in the end of the month, the reward track - all together makes the game much more accessible. I think the core collection being 100% free was a huge part of this too. I would bet most of the community would agree that the game could be cheaper, but it's much better now than in 2016.

    • Risk taking - the new leadership takes risks in card design and keywords. Feels like every expansion the design is fresh, with tons of archetypes they want to explore. Less vanilla cards and more daring design that even if its not strong - it makes things interesting. I think the DH rollout was a great example. huge risk with a new class, quick nerfs when it was obvious the power level was way too high. The class feels very unique in the way it plays, with clear advantages and tough spots.

    • Communication - the constant Q&As, fast response time, and clear messaging is as good as any team in the industry. Love what they did with the core class philosophy as a benchmark of what they want to do with each class. There is def a clear vision for hearthstone that was communicated. Clearly this expac they went overboard with the quests as far as power, and I won't be surprised if they will nerf things further.

This is not a knock on Ben Brode and the original dev team. They built an amazing platform that was and still is - best in class in the industry and despite 25 different competitors, HS is still king. But I think this current leadership team is what keeping the game fresh, and successful. Big shout out!

Please, stop twisting the words of the devs.

There are a lot of toxic gaming subs, but this sub honestly takes the cake sometimes.

For the first time since the launch of the game, the devs start having weekly QnAs about their game design, and hints about the coming future. And what does the sub do? Use and twist their words so that they can continue shitting on the devs.

What I'm referring to is in Iksar's QnA, where he says that he doesn't want control decks not to have a wincon. And so many times, this sub uses that to say, "Iksar hates control." Like, that just twists his words so hard.

So please. If you want the devs to continue communicating like they do, which is far more than most games I've seen, don't misinterpret their words on purpose.

TIL the illustration of Harbor Scamp depicts a concealed gnome (?) in the box -- this is likely a reference of the pirate you draw from the battlecry
