Tavern Brawl this week is... "Wacky Waxy Winter Veil" (Dec. 23, 2020)

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 09:15 AM PST

Description: "Greatfather Kobold got a little carried away with the presents. He's wrapped up the strongest creatures & heroes in Azeroth! Free them!"

    Chalkboard

    Format: Constructed / Wild

Reward: one Classic park pack (woops, lol) for your first win

History: This is the second time for this format; the only other time was the week of Christmas, 3 years ago. It's fairly similar to the Gift Exchange format we had last week, except each side starts with four 0/4 Gifts on their board, that have Deathrattles that release mana-discounted Legendary minions. As Gifts die, they are NOT replaced the next turn as with Gift Exchange, but both sides get four new Gifts on their board on Turn 7.

Also please note that when a Gift dies, the discounted minion always goes to the opponent's hand, not the hand of the player who killed it. So unlike with the Gift Exchange format, cards that kill your own Gifts (e.g. with Warlock) do not help you. The Gamepedia article about this format has some advice about what cards to use.

Good luck, have fun & Happy Holidays!

MMR matchmaking needs to go in casual duels.

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 01:47 PM PST

2 minute queue time with 7 wins, almost every match is nearly 1 minute now I'm over 7K MMR.

I'm basically going to stop playing duels simply because all this queue time I'm not earning exp over time will add up.

There is no need for it in casual duels- keep the score if they like but get rid of the matchmaking part of it.

My First 12 wins in Heroic Duels! (Druid 12-2)

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 12:44 PM PST

    Eeks here, AMA!

2 losses were against a Priest at the very beginning and a Demon Hunter after 7 wins. Wins 11 and 12 were both pretty close calls at the beginning against 2 Deathrattle Hunters with fast openings.

Idea for deck inspired from https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/best-duels-starter-decks-for-all-classes/#druid (I was missing several of the cards such as Survival of the Fittest and Guardian Animals, but you have a good chance to pick them up in the later rounds)

See link for Rewards, Initial Deck (15 cards), and Final Deck (47 cards): https://imgur.com/a/k9emOd5
