    We'd like to provide some updates since the 16.4 patch went live yesterday.

    16.4 introduced an iOS issue that could put players into an infinite loop and prevent them from playing. We've fixed this issue and have sent a new game version to the App Store. We're currently expecting this to be deployed to the App Store and available for download soon.

    We've also seen players on Android experiencing a few issues that are preventing them from playing. We suspect this is limited to certain devices, so we're doing testing with a variety of Android devices today to help us learn more about the issue. We'll share an update on this as soon as we know more.

    Lastly, two issues from yesterday have already been resolved. A temporary issue was preventing players from queueing for Battlegrounds with a friend, but this has been fixed. We've resolved another issue where players were seeing an incorrect version of the card Mogu Fleshshaper that was missing art. You should no longer be able to acquire the incorrect card in the game.

    On a separate note, we've noted some members of the community wondering if yesterday's Dragons update for Battlegrounds was the totality of a big communication about game updates that has been rumored. While Dragons is a big update to the Battlegrounds mode, this is just the first step in our plans for the rest of the year. We'll have more information on what's next for Hearthstone in mid-March. We're excited to show all of this to you in just a few weeks.

    I get that perhaps the team is busy and just don't have time to communicate with us, but it's clear that a large portion of this community is very let down by there not being the New Year announcement today. Based on history this announcement had been every February, and people who were at the summit said the news would be coming: "soon", "very soon" and "right around the corner".

    I'm fine with there being no news, but can a CM take a moment to just tell us something like "The announcement will come next week" or something? I don't think us hyping up the announcement is our fault as the precedent has been set by Blizzard that, again, these announcement always happen in February on either a Tuesday/Thursday, usually of the last week.

    EDIT: I like the Battlegrounds update, but I play this game to play what I've always loved about it: constructed Hearthstone. I care more about learning about the upcoming year than adding some dragons to a game mode that in my opinion is second to Hearthstone the main game.

    Still in shock after hearing what's planned for @PlayHearthstone 2020. The developers remain as passionate as ever. They haven't given up on the game. Not even close. If they can execute, this will cement Hearthstone for the next decade. For new, returning, and veteran players.

    I know when the announcement will be and more based on data!

    First, going back to Journey to Un'Goro, the first set of every Hearthstone year has been released exactly 126 days after the previous expansion. Following this pattern, the first expansion of the year will be released on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. This also checks out, being on a Tuesday, as the last 5 expansions have all been released on a Tuesday.

    Next, over the last 4 expansions the average number of days between the announcement of the expansion and its release is 33.25 days. So if we go back 33 days from 4/14/20, which we determined earlier is the release day, we arrive at the date for the announcement of the first expansion on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

    Finally, the last 2 New Year announcements have happened on average 42 days before the first expansion release. Going back 42 days from 4/14/20, we arrive at the date for the announcement of the New Year on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Also worth noting that this correlates well with the Hearthstone anniversary event that is starting the next day on March 4th.

    All this to say I really have no idea when these things will happen but it was fun to look at the data and patterns and try and figure it out. Also I've added the data I've collected. I have disregarded most of the older sets since I feel like patterns are more apparent in the last 3 years or so. All of this has just been for fun, I'm sure I missed something or got something wrong but let I'm curious to hear what you guys think!

    i know i know, there are enough posts about how shitty the new mage pack for 10 bucks is. but even as a whale who pumps all his money into this stupid game i cant buy this pack. this will be the first pack i dont buy. why would i pay 10 bucks for 5 packs when i get 7 packs for the same price?there is absolutly no reason to buy it. i dont even play mage. thanks for your attention. DONT BUY IT.
