    Strawpoll here: https://www.strawpoll.me/18820971

Hello r/hearthstone, 227th Brawl comes to an end, so let's have a discussion about it.

This weeks Tavern Brawl was Doom in the Tomb: Part II, where you've played as one of the 5 League of E.V.I.L. members or 4 Saviors of Uldum defeating 7 bosses of Tombs of Terror and the final boss Headless Horseman. If you managed to complete a run under an hour - you gained a Golden Temple Berserker, under 40 minutes - a Golden Generous Mummy as well.

Did you enjoy it? Why or why not? Any memorable moments? Would you like to see a similar brawls in the future? Discuss below.

    Hearthstone mobile is terrible

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:21 PM PDT

    Bugs are so annoying

-random disconnect and when restarted game, reconnect didn't show up and I couldn't start new game, whenever I clicked play, the circle wouldn't stop spinning -collection doesn't load, it happened like 3-4 times this week already -long time reconnect, it takes so long time, and my phone is decent for games. -tavern brawl(doom in the tomb), I couldn't play tavern brawl, cause it couldn't load my process. Whenever I clicked play, it just kicked me back to main menu

Those are only some I remember from head, the point is hs mobile needs to be fixed ASAP

If Tombs of Terror is an indication of future changes to the Classic set, here's some meme Legendaries I think would be a lot of fun to add without warping the meta too much

HSReplay.net - The Most Popular Wild Cards (In Standard)

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 07:00 AM PDT

I want this card back on standart

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 01:16 AM PDT

Am I the only one who hates this new temporary meta?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 03:09 PM PDT

Just wanted to ask the question.

Bringing back cards into standard could have been a fun exercise, but by introducing such powerful cards which have completely reshaped the meta all that's happened is standard has basically been removed for wild-lite with no other options until the experiment is over.

On top of which with so few deckslots having to write down every deck, then edit them all to add in the new cards is just a nuisance.

Honestly I'm all for wild-lite, but you can't just remove standard for two months randomly.

With the Blizzcon time schedule, we can see that there will probably be only expansion announcement and nothing else.

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:52 PM PDT

Because of the time, which is the same as last year, maybe even less of it, we will just probably see the upcoming expansion for this year. In the opening "ceremonial" for Hearthstone, we will get some info about it and after that in like 6-8 hours, we will probably get more in-depth look, but that will be probably it. Looking like no achievements, no tournament mode, no new game mode, nothing interesting. Don't get me wrong, I'm playing from Beta, I love Hearthstone, I love new expansions and in particular last 2 of them were awesome on the design site, also with the adventures, but It's just time to do something new now.

There are a lot of issues right now, which I thing aren't that hard to fix and could be nice from the team if they could manage that. They were fixing a lot of things in the past, even when their team was really small and nowadays, their team has a lot of people and in every major update we can only see like max. 10 bug fixes, but not only the main ones and even 2-3 of them being for the phones? That's a big oof for me.

I just don't enjoy Hearthstone for now as I did in the past as I said previously and I'm not even doing daily quests, even If I have time for It. I played a lot of games every day, like 30+ if I had time for it.

There are some things that I think would be nice to do to get people more interested, including me:

-> "Mixing up adventure + expansion" as it's now, but also giving people some key cards from the expansion after completing the adventure or even adding something like 40 cards set just separated from adventure. I loooved older adventures so much, just because of the reward potential and my deck building.

-> "Better ladder experience" I would say, giving people random golden rare card for every rank they get up on the ladder is something that is motivating for us and would be highly appreciated. Maybe even giving us a random classic legendary card for reaching legend rank would be awesome too. New skins, cardbacks, voicelines, board features, etc. as a ladder experience rewards would get a lot of attention too.

-> "Better communication" Ben Thompson said, that we will hear more from them in this year, but It's looking like It's even worse than before.

-> "Better Hearthstone support or Blizzard support in general" I would say, that there are some people, who doesn't even understand the game at all (For example when they just said someone that he disenchanted his "basic" card, when It's a bug right now.) Also banning people without showing them evidence or explaining them what they did wrong is for me also really bad thing. 3 friends of mine got banned for just a stupid thing (permanently), just because they shared their account with streamer, who just opened few packs on his stream from their accounts. They spent together like 4000€, maybe even 5000€. I think If you don't do anything that is harmful for other people you shouldn't be perma-banned for it as If the streamer do something to your account, that's just your problem, but if both sides just agreed on things, as I said, which aren't somehow harmful for other people, I think It's fine. Other games have the same thing (which is account care), where you can manage other player accounts just for things like creating decks, playing in casual, playing in solo player content, brawl, opening packs, etc.

-> "Better bug fixes and care in general" I reported a lot of bugs, which aren't fixed for like half a year or more now, they aren't big or something, but they are just annoying. I think that also a lot of people are complaining on forums about something in bug section or technical support, but only very few of them gets actually any response, which isn't good as people just wants to get their things fixed. Also another thing is that there just isn't a page, where you can see all the gathered bugs/technical things so other people just could be already aware that someone already asked before about certain problem and if there is something, It's update like once per month, maybe once per 2 weeks, but that's it. Also there is only a few bugs mentioned when there just is a lot more of them already known. Also deleting the fixed issues would be nice too as It's better to orient on the page It self.

-> "Achievements + Skins" I think I can leave it there just like that without even saying anything, as I think It's clear enough.

-> "More gaming boards and interactions" I was so excited when there was something new added into the game, like the haloween themed boards, but now, they are just every year the same, without any change (except the newest one). Also I love clicking on things when my opponent is roping, so that's also another thing.

-> "Better dust economy" The worst feeling is that when you miss like 5 epic cards and you just open something that you already own like 50 times. Another thing is that rare and common cards are so underrated that you need to open a lot of packs to craft only one legendary card. And... another thing is that you just can't upgrade cards to their golden versions for something like 1/2 normal card price or something, which is annoying too.

-> "More weekly events" like going back to Black Rock Mountain for a week, rewarding you with some older cards, or something like that, but just in general more things that you can do to get more rewards for doing something else than just grinding golds/ladder.

-> "More frequent nerfs" this topic is really common, but really, just experiment more with things and If you can see that something is strong as fck, just don't be shy and nerf it immediately and maybe if you don't like it, just revert it back. Wild is also a mode, so there is a lot of insane decks and cards, that could be a little bit nerfed, so pleaaase, keep that also in mind.

Pleeeeease Hearthstone devs don't disappoint me this time, I'm really on the edge now.

Can "The Caverns of Time" be the next expansion? (Tombs of terror spoilers)

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 12:45 AM PDT

Many people theorize about something with the old gods being the next expansion.

I read that someone guessed the first to be Dalaran based, (correct), and the second as Uldum (also correct). His third guess was Bronze dragonflight. All based on this picture: https://www.pcgamesn.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/hearthstone-year-of-the-dragon-expansions-580x334.jpg

So, i started reading about the Bronze dragonflight, and this is what wowpedia said:

The bronze dragonflight are dragons with yellow-bronze scales and can breath superheated sand. During the Ordering of Azeroth, the titan Aman'Thul blessed the wise Nozdormu and his brood with the ability to time travel and mastery of temporal magic. Generally stoic and detached from 'current' events, they are rare to interact with mortals unless they require help in safeguarding the one true timeline. Their nemeses are the Infinite dragonflight, a faction of bronze dragons corrupted by the Old Gods who wish to rewrite the timeline. While the Caverns of Time are the flight's home, Tanaris Desert is their province

As many guessed by the last boss of Tombs of Terror, with the return of the old gods , the quote above kinda makes sense. Caverns of time is located in Tanaris desert right next to Un'goro and Uldum.

Is Dalaran lost in time? Is Rafaams plan to unleash the old gods with help from the Infinite dragonflight and will our heroes assist the Bronze dragonflight to save the world?

Would definantely be a nice "end" for the year of the dragon. Revisiting old expansions through time along with alot of dragons and old gods. One can hope.

Did anyone found the secret code in this gameboard?

This week's tavern brawl is pretty wild

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 08:50 AM PDT

I feel like I am in the minority to say that I feel Hearthstone in 2019 is in my opinion the best it has been in a long time.

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 03:16 AM PDT

For context, I started end of TGT and my first true expansion experience was LoE. Hearthstone was something special for me up until Kara. Mammoth brought some spark back for a bit but late KFT and Kobolds left a sour taste in my mouth. My dissatisfaction with Hearthstone reached its peak with Rumble, where I genuinely thought I would not play any more.

Then 2019 happened. The HoF was a great start. If Baku and Genn stayed in it would have warped the meta for the whole Year of the Dragon. Also genuinely agreed with each HoF choice except I would have HoF Leeroy as well.

Rise of Shadows was an amazing set. Uldum was an amazing set too. Great on power level, not too busted like MSG or Kobolds but not too weak. Strong with a lot of crazy stuff, but outside of a few outliers like CC and Tempo Rogue early on I never felt anything was busted in standard. In Wild I may hate Flame Ward and Catrina Muerte but that is due to the decks they are in, which I would argue they are not the focal card in either deck.

The introduction of more events makes it feel like there is always something going on. Yes Evolve is stupid now in standard but the idea of Doom in the Tomb is something i truly appreciate. It is great seeing old friends back for a new meta. I would love for Blizzard to try more seasonal metas like this, and I hope that this does not dissuade Blizzard from doing this again. Fire FestEVIL was fun even if I couldn't grind as much gold, but I have found the gold grind at least lately has not been so bad for me so long as I do my dailys. The tavern brawl made up for it, I played through the whole thing multiple times. Rise of the Mech was great even if SN1P is a broken card

As someone who drops a decent amount of cash on Hearthstone I have been dropping way less this year. In Uldum I only bought packs for the pre order (which I was broke for due to personal reasons but a friend loaned me the money) and one time bought 20$. I have done well enough unpacking and with my dust I got all the legendaries I wanted and most of the epics through saved up gold and arena.

Speaking of Arena, Blizzard is listening there too! I liked the bucket system but I am not too upset to see it go. The seasonal metas give chances for plenty of classes to see their time in the sun. I feel Arena balance for the most part this year has been really good. While in some metas certain classes are super good (like when Warlock had Abyssal) it feels often that they are not terrible.

Tavern Brawl may still have some issues, but I like how I can play it on Tuesdays now. While I still wonder why some like Cart Crash or Shiftcon are still a thing, overall I have enjoyed Tavern Brawl a lot this year. The new ones for events are great.

Balance changes also are super solid. They listen and tune when it is appropriate. While I may not completely agree (Prep should have been hall of famed), overall I like what they have done for balance. They also have been far quicker into expansions with Balance it feels, tackling them within the first month, which makes the meta take longer to stale since just as it gets figured out, it changes.

Do I have my issues? Yes. Blizzard can fix more things for mobile, the mid year hall of fame was awkward af, and the Blizzchung/Hong Kong situation has been talked to death nothing I can say would do justice to how awful of a situation it is (Just know I support Hong Kong and the CCP has done awful things). But overall, this has been the most fun I have had with Hearthstone since Whisper of the Old Gods, which is something I never thought I would have.
